We are on the eve of the EQAO testing. Grades 3, 6, and 9 students and teachers throughout our publicly-funded Ontario schools prepare for battle! Final reviews of the Mathematics and Language curriculum take place during these final days in May, and the kids get ready for a temporary change in their daily routines. They have heard about this test for many months, and now they want to show their stuff. Let’s make sure these kids have NO NERVES about the EQAO!
If your child is heading to a new school in September, I have a new school survival guide for both of you. Transitions are tough at any age, so try to make this big one easy on your child. In my opinion, the real New Yearʼs Day is the first day of school. No, itʼs not a holiday like January 1st – itʼs the opposite – itʼs the first day back to school for the kids, and itʼs the first day back to real routines for Moms and families. Itʼs “back to reality” day.
My nine-year-old boy is scared at bedtime these days, for the first time in his life. He thinks there are monsters around his bed.
